Predictably Predictable Predictions – The Civil War

One of the things you’ll never hear me say is, “You never know what can happen in one of those rivalry games”, or “Toss the record books out when those two teams play.”

Oregon's Jeff Maehl

Truth is you never know what can happen in any game, but it’s an epic give up to say, “You never know…”. It just means you’re trying to make small talk or you haven’t spent time looking at the facts.

Truth is Oregon State is beat up and Oregon has better talent. The games in Corvallis but the Ducks have won at Tennessee, Arizons State, Cal, USC and at raucous Washington this season; those aren’t easy road games. Only one defense, Cal, held Oregon to less than 42 points this entire season, while Oregon State hasn’t scored 42 points in a single game.

Truth is Oregon wide receiver Jeff Maehl makes any game worth watching.

Predictably Predictable Prediction

I don’t see how Oregon State keeps from being blown out today.

Oregon 45 – Oregon State 27 – but you never know what can happen in one of these rivalry games, right?

In that other Civil War, I’ll take the North minus the points.
