Something for the Weekend...Thailand's Water Festival.

Hey welcome to our look at the various aspects of this tradition which is certainly not exclusively Thai and was imported from the cultures of neighbouring countries way back in time. The sprinkling of water is not exclusive to eastern cultures it is an important part of the western religions such as baptism and with the sprinkling of the faithful at Mass with the Asperges and in Particular at this time, Easter with the chanting if the Vidi Aquam.
Our first five pictures illustrate traditional sprinkling and dusting of powder. Our Header and Second five are how many of followers and friends would like to have it be in illustrations from Ian Felix Alquiros Photography The remainder are the reality of the past week with four or five more days to come.

It seems there are more road fatal accidents, especially motor bike ones over the period from the water throwing than any other other cause including alcohol abuse.

IF YOU OWN THE COPYRIGHT TO ANY OF THE PHOTOS PUBLISHED ON OUR BLOG AND WOULD HAVE THEM CREDITED OR DELETED PLEASE IDENTIFY THEM AND EMAIL US. Thank you.

For now enjoy, have a great weekend and come back for the Sunday Supplement which will return to our normal bill of fare.

Cheers. Paul
